Imperfect Circles is about people who decided to start over. That is why the paintings have light backgrounds, like tabula rasa. You could argue that circles are the most perfect forms. Those people are, however, not perfect.
They want to drop what they have and start something new. So they stop going round in their perfectly known circles by taking a turn. Who knows where they will get. The more they know which direction they want to go, the more likely it is that they will get there.
Maybe they will get to their “self-related work”, the very most important thing we should strive for according to the Ukrainian philosopher Skovoroda.
As we break through our perfect circles, we find happiness by finding ourselves.
